Salary – circa £100k

St Luke’s, Sheffield has been at the vanguard of the hospice movement for over 50 years and is one of the largest hospices in Britain. We provide palliative and end of life care to nearly 1,800 people across Sheffield each year, while also supporting their families and carers too.

Following the announcement that Peter Hartland - our current CEO - will be stepping down after successfully leading St Luke’s for the last 15 years, we are looking to recruit an inspiring, proven leader with the integrity, presence and skills to ensure the continued success of the Hospice at an exciting and challenging time in our development.

You will need to provide vision, strategic direction and leadership to challenge, develop and support the delivery of excellent patient-centred care. This wide-ranging role includes overall accountability for the quality of service and responsibility for the sustainability of the Hospice, and will see you working effectively with the Board of Trustees.

Positive, resilient and motivating, You will have worked in an influential capacity within a complex organisation environment. You’ll also have significant experience of leading and delivering organisational change and managing innovation and service improvement.

Politically astute, your business acumen will be geared to the requirements of the voluntary healthcare sector. Familiarity with governance issues and patient care would be an advantage. You will be educated to degree level or equivalent, with evidence of continuous personal, professional and managerial development, strong process management, analytical and diplomacy skills are important too.
