Chief Executive Officer
Location: Chalfont St. Peter
Salary: £140,000 circa
British Forces Broadcasting Service (BFBS) is a registered charity and has been a pioneer in armed forces broadcasting and communications for over 75 years, bringing the best of UK TV, sport and music to the forces family worldwide. Our armed forces do a tough yet invaluable job, often working in extreme conditions – so we believe they deserve our unfailing support.
BFBS is now seeking a new Chief Executive Officer who will be responsible for the leadership of BFBS and the management of all its activities, for developing new business, and for ensuring that the employees of the organisation work in line with the agreed strategy and with the ethos and values of BFBS. They will build strong relationships with key stakeholders, especially with the Ministry of Defence (MoD), and lead and inspire staff at all levels. The CEO is answerable to the Trustees for all aspects of the work of BFBS, including budget and staff management and the delivery of existing contracts.
The successful candidate will have significant business development and leadership experience. He or she will be able to demonstrate success in a senior role or roles which may be in any sector. Experience of broadcasting or empathy with the Armed Forces and the work of the MoD would be useful.
