Blue Ventures was born two decades ago with an ambition to create a world where small-scale fishers have bigger catches, better livelihoods and improved food security, and where healthy oceans teem with life for generations to come.
Since then, we have grown into a diverse, global organisation of over 300 staff in 12 countries, fighting for the rights of fishers and protecting the life of our oceans, and the scale of our ambition and influence continues is not slowing down.
After a successful, dynamic, ambitious 20 years, our founding Executive Director, Alasdair Harris, will be moving on from Blue Ventures. As we push to delivering our 2030 strategy and continue to grow, we are now looking for a new Chief Executive to lead Blue Ventures into the future.
This is a broad and varied job comprising organisational leadership, front-facing cause advocacy, income generation, community empowerment and strategy systems change. Above all, we listen and engage with community needs and we’re looking for our next CEO to bring skills in community empowerment, ideally at regional or international level, which could be from a variety of causes.
Equally, how our CEO leads is of fundamental importance to us. We’re looking for an inclusive, ambitious, emotionally intelligent leader who lives our values, who is fundamentally motivated to make the world a better place for people and the oceans and, crucially, who will ensure that Blue Ventures is a high performing and truly transformational organisation.
